Welcome to the Lowell Adult Education Center, part of the Lowell Public School System. We are one of the largest programs of basic education in Massachusetts and New England. On a yearly basis, our program graduates more than 475 adults with high school credentials and another 650 adults earn English Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) certificates. Each year, there are more than 2000 adults who attend classes at the Lowell Adult Education Center.
“I should never have quit school; I am too old to go back to school; My English is not good enough; I am not good at Math; I don’t understand what I read.” At the Lowell Adult Education Center, we hear comments like these all the time.
You’re never too old to help yourself! You are important! Take advantage of the opportunity for you to complete your high school credentials or improve your English language proficiency. Many doors will open to you once you return to school. And, thanks to the Lowell Public Schools and the Massachusetts Department of Education, Adult and Community Learning Services, all classes at the Lowell Adult Education Center are FREE!
We expect to see you soon – you owe it to yourself! This web site should answer several of the questions you have.
With warm regards,
Frederick Abisi, Director
Lowell Adult Education Center
